The WHC General Assembly 2025 took place on 14 November 2025 at Qurtuba Hospitality in Johannesburg. The event brought together halal certification bodies from across the world under the theme UNITY. As a result, it created a meaningful platform for global cooperation and shared understanding.
Highlights of WHC General Assembly 2025
Opening Session
The assembly began with Registration, Qirā’ah, and a Welcome by SANHA. After that, delegates received addresses from:
- WHC Secretary General Atty. Abdul Rahman T. Linzag
- WHC President Sheikh Thafier Najjaar
- Moulana Ebrahim Bham, Jam’iatul ‘Ulama South Africa
In addition, key guests delivered impactful messages, including the OIC SMIIC Secretary General and Dr. Fertiana Santy (BPJPH Indonesia).
A session on AI Governance and the Integrity of Halal Certification followed, offering valuable insights into digital trust and future challenges.
Afternoon Session – UNITY Discussion
Open Dialogue with International HCBs
WHC led an open discussion on “Unification”, giving delegates an opportunity to share perspectives. Furthermore, they explored practical ways to strengthen cooperation within the global halal community.
Finally, the session concluded with closing remarks, followed by Tea Break & ‘Asr Salāh.
A United Gathering
The WHC General Assembly 2025 successfully upheld its theme of UNITY. Moreover, it brought together diverse halal certification bodies committed to enhancing collaboration, credibility, and shared progress.
