About Us

Our Story

The World Halal Council (WHC), established in 1999 and initially registered as the World Halal Food Council (WHFC), adopted its current name in 2002 to better reflect its mission of creating a unified platform to elevate halal standards worldwide. With members spanning continents, WHC convenes its Annual General Assembly in major cities such as Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Istanbul, Cape Town, Manilla, China, Bangkok and Tokyo, providing a forum to address key halal compliance challenges and foster international collaboration.

Committed to promoting trust and integrity within the global halal ecosystem, WHC develops clear guidelines and actively contributes to the development of robust regulatory frameworks. Beyond supporting consumer confidence, WHC plays a pivotal role in strengthening the halal compliance sector by advancing a transparent, ethical, and unified global halal system.
