Honouring Outstanding Leadership and Service to the Global Halal Community

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia 🇲🇾 (7th July 2026) – The World Halal Council (WHC) extends its sincere appreciation and gratitude to Datin Paduka Hajah Hakimah Mohd Yusoff on the occasion of her retirement from public service.

Throughout her distinguished career, Datin Hakimah served with exceptional dedication in several key leadership roles, most notably as Director General of the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) and subsequently as Coordinator of Halal Affairs under the Malaysian Prime Minister’s Department, responsible for coordinating Malaysia’s national halal agenda in collaboration with JAKIM, the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), and the Halal Development Corporation (HDC).

She has made outstanding contributions to the development of Malaysia’s halal ecosystem, the strengthening of halal integrity in the compliance sector at both the national and international levels, and the promotion of cooperation within the global halal certification fraternity. Her leadership has significantly contributed to strengthening Malaysia’s position as a global reference in halal governance.

Beyond her many professional achievements, she has earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and stakeholders around the world through her humility, wisdom, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to public service.

On behalf of the Executive Committee, Member Organisations, and Secretariat of the World Halal Council, we express our heartfelt appreciation for her distinguished leadership, dedicated service, and invaluable contributions to the advancement of the global halal sector.

We wish Datin Paduka Hajah Hakimah Mohd Yusoff continued good health, happiness, and success in this new chapter of her life.
